Ivrea to Viverone 8/8/17

8/8/17 Tuesday
Day 12

Ivrea- Viverone 20 km

Cool, rain

Up 0500.
Nestled within my poncho. Feet are wet. Now I have a new blister to join the existing blister which is cracked through three layers of skin, and the large blister on the left small toe.
Squirrels.
Guard dogs; one escaped from under a gate and would have attacked, had I not put my loudest barking and yelling into effect.
Migraine.
Bland, easy walk through some depressed areas.
Wide pathways along sporadic fields of beans and corn.
Belgian Matthew passed as I was in a chapel giving thanks to God for sparing my life from the jaws of the dog. Ciao Matthew.
Viverone does not seem prosperous. We buy lunch from the Panateria which is the only shop open.
Retrace our steps down to the lake and check in at one of the 3-star hotels.
It has become bitterly cold. Along with other tourists, we shiver as we have dinner and drinks under awnings by the lake.
We're just back at the hotel as a storm unleashes hail and torrential rain.
